GD Chaves stumble to defeat against Rio Ave

Rio Ave edged out GD Chaves, 2x0, on Sunday, in a game related to matchweek 1 of Primeira Liga. Both Luís Freire's team and José Gomes's team held their first game in the competition.

After 14 minutes, GD Chaves saw Bruno Langa get sent off due to accumulation of yellows. The first-half ended without any goals.

The first goal was scored by Leonardo Ruiz after 63 minutes, from the penalty spot. Zé Manuel netted the last goal in time added on with a right-foot shot inside the penalty area.
