In the closing stages of the game, Darren Abdilla's team saw Farid Romero get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.
After the result Marsaxlokk are 3rd in the table, with 16 points, while Gzira United sit 9th place, with 11 points. In the next fixture, Winston Muscat's team will play at home against Santa Lucia, whilst Darren Abdilla's team will play away against Hamrun Spartans.
