Detroit City move on to the next round of US Open Cup

Detroit City edged out Michigan Stars FC in a close win on Tuesday, 1-0, in a match relating of the US Open Cup. Both Detroit City and Michigan Stars FC held their first game in the competition.

The first-half ended with a goalless draw.

With 78 minutes on the clock, Hunter Olson saw a red card after receiving his second yellow after 90 minutes, Maxi Rodriguez scored the winner for Detroit City. After seeing his second yellow card in the final minutes of the game, Brett Levis was sent off and left Detroit City with 10-man.

With this result, Detroit City are into the next round of the competition.
