Italy overcame Venezuela in a close win on Thursday, 2-1, in a match relating of the National Team Friendlies . Both Italy's national team and Venezuela's national team played their first game in the competition. Mateo Retegui was on fire. In the starting XI there was José Martínez .
Early in the game, Salomón Rondón missed the spot-kick. The first goal of the game was scored by Mateo Retegui, after 40 minutes. Shortly before the interval, Darwin Machís struck for Venezuela.
Mateo Retegui scored the winning goal in the 80th minute.
