Olympiacos defeat Fenerbahçe after a penalty shootout

Fenerbahçe edged out Olympiacos in a close win on Thursday, 1-0, in a match relating to the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League. José Luis Mendilibar's team beat Ismail Kartal's team, 3-2, in the first leg of the tie.

After 11 minutes, Irfan Kahveci scored Fenerbahçe's only goal of the game.

In the closing stages of the game, Olympiacos saw Andreas Ndoj get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.

Thanks to this result, Olympiacos are through to the next round of the competition.
