Empoli stumble to defeat against Atalanta

Atalanta defeated Empoli in a close win on Friday, 2x1, on matchweek 27. Coming into the contest, Gian Piero Gasperini's team came from a defeat, and Paolo Zanetti's team came from three defeats.

Shortly before the interval, Tyronne Ebuehi opened the scoring for Empoli.

With 58 minutes on the clock, Marten de Roon fired home for Atalanta. Rasmus Höjlund scored the winning goal in the closing stages of the game.

After the result Atalanta are 6th in the table, with 45 points, while Empoli sit 14th place, with 28 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Gian Piero Gasperini's team will play away against Cremonese, while Paolo Zanetti's team will host Lecce.
