FC Porto defeated Benfica in a superb win on Sunday, 5x0, relating to matchweek 24 of the Primeira Liga. To this matchday, Sérgio Conceição's team came from a draw, and the encarnados came from two wins. Wenderson Galeno made a tremendous game.
Wenderson Galeno opened the score with 20 minutes on the clock, from a corner. After 44 minutes, FC Porto extended their lead with a goal from midfielder with a left-foot strike inside the penalty area.
In the 55th minute, Sérgio Conceição's team increased their lead with a goal from Wendell with a right-foot strike. In the 60th minute, Nicolás Otamendi saw a red card after receiving his second yellow with 75 minutes on the clock, Pepê doubled the lead for the Dragões, with a right-foot shot inside the box. In the closing stages of the game, Danny Namaso netted the final goal of the game, through a header inside the penalty area.
After the result Benfica are 2nd in the table, with 58 points, while FC Porto sit 3rd place, with 52 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Sérgio Conceição's team visit Portimonense, whilst the encarnados will play at home against Estoril Praia.
