Birmingham Legion edged out Chattanooga Red Wolves in a fantastic win on Wednesday, 4-2, in a match relating of the US Open Cup. Both Tom Soehn 's team and Chattanooga Red Wolves held their first game in the competition. Stéfano Pinho was the man of the match.
Leo Folla opened the score in the 12th minute.
After the break, Stéfano Pinho fired home for Birmingham Legion. Chattanooga Red Wolves scored their second goal of the game through Ricky Ruiz, after 76 minutes, from the penalty spot. With 80 minutes on the clock, Stéfano Pinho scored the second goal for Tom Soehn 's team. In the final minutes of the game, Gustavo Fernandes left the game early after seeing a red card.
In the closing stages of the game, Stéfano Pinho struck for Birmingham Legion. Forward completed the four-goal haul, in the 107th minute.
With this result, Birmingham Legion are through to the next round of the competition.
