Boavista defeated Paços de Ferreira in a close win on Thursday, 1x2, in a match relating to the Grp.C of the Portuguese League Cup. Both Jorge Simão's team and João Pedro Sousa's team played their first game in the competition.
The first goal was scored by João Pedro after 20 minutes, with a right-foot shot inside the penalty area.
Sub Gustavo Sauer, after the break, changed the course of the game. After 58 minutes, Yusupha Njie fired home for Boavista, through a header inside the penalty area, created by Filipe Ferreira. Gustavo Sauer scored the winning goal with 73 minutes on the clock with a left-foot shot. In the final minutes of the game, Stephen Eustáquio left the game early after seeing a red card.
