Fluminense move on to the next round of Brazil Cup

Fluminense walloped River-PI in a superb win on Tuesday, 0x5, in a match relating of the Brazil Cup. Both Oliveira Canindé's team and Fernando Diniz's team held their first game in the competition. Luciano was the star with 2 goals.

The first goal was scored by Luciano with 15 minutes on the clock, from the penalty spot. After 18 minutes, Everaldo fired home Fluminense second goal, with a right-foot shot inside the penalty box. Shortly before the interval, Fernando Diniz's team increased their lead with a goal from Bruno Silva from a penalty rebound. Mondragon kept his goal safe by saving the penalty in the 44th minute, taken by Luciano.

With 56 minutes on the clock, Fluminense extended their lead with a goal from forward with a left-foot shot inside the box. In stoppage time, Marlon netted the final goal of the game, with a left-foot strike from outside the penalty box.

Thanks to this result, Fluminense are through to the next round of the competition. With regard to the next fixture, Fernando Diniz's team will host Ypiranga-RS.
